It's kind of astonishing people are still calling this game remastered when it's essentially a remake if they had changed too much of the game like they did with Resident Evil 2 remake it wouldn't be Demon Souls it would be a game called Demon Souls but it would have nothing to do with the original game. That's why I'm a big fan of Resident Evil remake that came out on the GameCube because it kept the fixed camera angles actually improved upon it instead of throwing it out entirely like Resident Evil 2 remake did I still like Resident Evil 2 remake but I don't like it as much as the original game taking out the fixed camera angles remove some of the atmosphere

What's new: ruined music, ruined animations, ruined cutscenes, ruined tone, and especially ruined character designs. Guess we'll have to wait until we get a patch that give people the option to play Demon's Souls with the things that made the original game special.

I’m crossing my fingers for Bluepoint to either do a remake of Kings Field (US) or Bloodborne. What they’ve done here is absolutely fantastic. This game is dripping in atmosphere, and only makes me wonder if they did other Souls/Borne games.

Remakes and reboots have such a bad reputation these days. I'm really glad studios like Bluepoint exist to prove everyone wrong and to make games far better than the original versions. Shadow of the Colossus already felt pretty modern back when it came out. It just got a much-needed facelift. But for Demon's Souls? I can't go back to the original because of how dated the gameplay and visuals actually feel -- especially when compared to the OG Dark Souls. It lacked so much polish, but had so, so much promise. Bluepoint brought that promise to life and truly revamped the game in ways it desperately needed. I still think there's no replacement for the original game, as it does have its merits and 'of-the-time' charm, but my gods was it too clunky. I don't care for the faces or UI of the remake, admittedly, but if this won't convince you to get a PS5, then I don't know what will. The remake was the perfect launch title, and it truly gave Demon's Souls the attention it properly deserved. So many fans of Dark Souls can finally go back and play the game that started it all, much-needed improvements and quality of life changes firmly in place. Their attention to detail and creative reimaginings of each and every area truly blows my mind. There's just so much love and care put into the games Bluepoint makes. They didn't just modernize Demon's Souls -- they revolutionized it and set the template for all future Souls games, if they should decide to remake them.

I have disagree with the music.. the music of the original games was too far altered and the Nexus now sounds like some religious choir in the background. Gone is the simple tones that felt that the Nexus was a special place. Now it feels like you are in a church..

for fuck's sake, FROM, let your engine allow left-handed players to play, Dark Souls 2 handled this with no problem (except no backstabs) I'd flip the world immediately if it meant I can just play like I am

someone told me they said something about they won't add it because they don't feel like it was their right because they would be adding Cut content and lore they didn't create and wouldn't know where to start the lore or to how to add it. which I thought if they got FS after they get done with Elden Ring they could possibly make a Sixth Archstone dlc thing which I REALLY hope happens.

I’m so glad you mentioned that this is he most atmospheric game from FROM. I’ve been saying this as well for years. No other game has the same feel for me as Demon’s.

I feel like I’m the only one, but I really dislike the new score. The original was sparse but unique and fit the tone and settings beautifully. The new, fuller orchestration makes those same pieces sound generic. If you hear any of the original soundtrack you know what game it’s from immediately. With the new one it just sounds like dark souls or blood borne. Lacks the same charm as the original

While a lot of the new finishers are really cool, I think they kind of missed an opportunity with the spear weapons for a nice Vlad the Impaler style skewer and raise instead of doing the skewer and dump.

If you’d let me make a critique on your disk plate, it lacks a sense of scale. I couldn’t tell that it was the tower knight because I couldn’t tell how big he was.

To open the door you must trade a lot of ceramic coins with Sparkly the Crow and you will get the "Rusted Key" that unlocks it.

In Dark souls 3 I was the one who discovered casting the pyromncy healing sun spell with the demon scar cause it to roar. There was a streamer who unlocked the door. It is a set of nice looking armor and it requires 29 pieces of a certain item. I can't quite remember. I think he is the first person to unlock the door as far as I know. Should be able to find it on YouTube

I don’t want to brag, but I got pure bladestone off the first red skeleton on the cliff next to the crescent falchion in 4-1 on normal tendency. You have no idea how amazed/pissed I was though because I remembered I spent an ungodly amount of time farming it in pure black tendency in the original. It’s one of the rarest drops in the game.

The new critical hit animations are actually trash because the enemies health doesn't lessen for each hit you deal. As soon as the animation is triggered, the enemies health is reduced in full to the damage dealt even though your character hits the enemy multiple times.

The DLC weapons aren't that broken, but they do allow melee to do some shenanigans that they previously could not, like pancake the Red-Eyed Knight in 1-1. Beyond 1-1 though, about the best thing is the Ritual Blade makes tail cutting the dragon easier. That's about it. They quickly get bypassed with upgradeable weapons.

@LiveDark Virales why would I play the inferior version? The one with more bugs, the one without omnidirectional rolling. The one with less content due to the remake adding new armours and stuff. It's not an exact copy since it improves on the original in every way besides the soundtrack which is arguable

@Christopher O Donoghue I play the original thats what im telling you, 70$ for a exact copy even with minor changes is still too expensive, they dont offer actual new content (the broken archstone, new areas, etc). You simply could buy or borrow a PS3 and buy the original wich i think is like $20+/- on the PS3 store.
