I really don't find the bonfire near Vamos that essential because going from the mid area bonfire to pinwheel isn't too difficult. You just need to roll down to the right of the bridge latches would control and go left and theres a hole that leads you right to the area before the titanite demon. From there just drop down, summon leeroy and go and kill pinwheel. Where I DO think they should have put a bonfire was New Londo. Because no one should have to go through the ENTIRE area of New Londo just to fight a boss after dying. Yeah there's the bonfire in between the valley of the drakes and Darkroot basin, but that one might take even longer than going from Firelink Shrine AND you can get hit by high damaging drakes on the way. The fact there isn't at least a bonfire in the lower part of new londo is proof someone hates us

What are you saying this mechanics grades I absolutely hated the mechanic that based on your weapon is what you're going to be forced to fight. I got the Drake Sword early game and I had nothing but giant dads and everything else come at me like a freak train trying to kill me. Granted I love that Dark Souls one has so much people playing it again I missed back in the old days when Dark Souls 1 was like the greatest game of all time and now that dream is back but still of course we're running the giant dads and broken Magic builds all over again get the one mechanic everybody loves instant backstabs and chain backstabs. Really if any of those guys from the Dark Souls are reading this fucking fix that mechanic. And balance out Armour better too I mean seriously no armor has dark resistance oh you run around being attacked by dark builds all the time. But besides that I'm loving Dark Souls and I'm loving the remastered version

The truth is that I had never been able to experience the first Dark Souls, my PC was always a potato and I never had an X360 or PS3. Now I could play in the PS4 version, and you can see that this is more a port than a remaster, but still there are changes that are appreciated, the textures went through a facelift that in some things looks very good and in others very poor (the lift that leads to Nuevo Londo looks excellent lol), what are effects of pyromania, magic and miracles were redone (the curve sword of Quelaag looks spectacular), and best of all I think it would be those stable 60fps as Havel, even in Blightown

Honestly, the Remaster should have been free on PC, playing through it was pretty underwhelming and i feel like a sucker for supporting them. A lot of companies have given these re-releases out for free as well because they knew its basically a patch repacked in a "new" game. In case of Dark Souls its actually pretty insulting for the fans since the original release was such garbage that the community had to fix it because they never bothered to do so themselves. The only good thing i can say about it is that it works now, but that doesn't say much because it should have been like this from the very beginning and the changes they made don't really add anything. Also that the game is mostly for new players is not an excuse since they also would have benefited from the improvments which this game desperately needed. I can see that a lot of new players who came from DS 2 and 3 or even Bloodborne would be mostly baffeled or even disappointed too since all the good changes these games made are not there. Anyone defending this cash grab is a tool and those companies love you for that.

I had a very random thought... What if Dark Souls Remastered is actually Dark Souls 4? What if the painters Blank Canvas is a "World of grey, and everlasting Dragons" and painting the Canvas with the Blood of the Dark Soul means that Deep underground a powerful Soul is found, a Dark Soul. And it basically throws the world into a messed up loop. I don't know, maybe? That's why the remastered came out. Cause it actually continues the story...

I just hope that Sekiro will not be as loveless as FromSoftwares recent projects. For me, after Dark Souls 1, the quality has spiraled downwards, and DS Remastered is really the Tip of the Iceberg. How can a company with that high standards, considering Miyazakis first two games, come to such a money grabbing, cheap reskin version of the original. The DS remastered move reminds me of something EA would have made with some of their IP's Correct me if im wrong, but i seriously think that since DS 1, the quality of their products lowered. A little exception may be bloodborne, and the dlc' s from all of their games seem to have higher quality in general. But nobody seems to talk about this, maybe because im the only one who sees it like this? Either way, i hope that Miyazaki will find new motivation for his new IP Sekiro, so that the quality shall rise again

I know not how to spread this so I will do so here. I think we are missing lore chunks by ignoring boss music with lyrics in it. I say this because Iudex Gundyr's boss music has his name is repeated several times in said music. Couple that with Iudex means Judge in latin and we know he is there to judge Unkindled, it is likely the lyrics in his song are Latin too. How many other bosses have translatable lyrics and how much lore have we missed by not paying attention to music? I leave to better lore finders than I. I hope Ive sparked a path of discovery here.

I don't get why so many people complain about remaster,sure it's not the greatest,but its runing on 60 fps stable,while previous one was hard to maintain 30 sometimes(cough blighttown)game can run up to 4k with no problems,overall better textures,better lighting,now correct me if i'm wrong,but isn't that the definition of remaster? P.S don't fkn bring pricing into this,only talking about game,and the quality of remaster,also if you don't like it play old version by any means il be playing remaster for sure.

I never encountered a single invader as I played the game at level 1 destroying every boss all the way to Quelaag in level 1. Do you think being level one counts because most players will just level up.

I hate being 'that' guy, but omni-directional rolling would not've been a quality of life change it would've broken the game entirely if they didn't rework all the movesets and hitbox mechanics of every enemy in the game. That type of fundamental mechanic shifting just wasn't in the cards (read: publisher backing) for this game. It feels like an unfinished remaster if you can even call that a thing.
