I was able to defeat the lady first time by slaying her last,after I visited a lot of other places already lol. She is quite vulnerable to aggresive, in your face attacks, and for some reason, nightjar slash stuns her so much that you can use it to spam her to death. Fck, I have to fight Owl a second time?First time was a real exhausting match already.

Floating passage may seem useless but it helps a lot. It doesnt do much to posture damage but no matter the guard (unless it's a shield) your floating passage does damage to the enemies base health. I stack divine confetti which intensifies the affect of doing damage through defenses then Ako's sugar. I've used this move by taking down a boss's health slowly allowing my parries and strikes to do more posture damage. Then I'd switch to ichi to do a quick takedown

The weapon art is part one is pretty good for chipping the posture on some posses like Shura ending Isshin, it's also pretty good for breaking the poise on menial enemies imo

Floating passage is very useful in my playthrough against bosses. Even if they block the attacks, it still deals damage to them (HP and posture). I beat the final boss, especially after he pulls out the halberd, primarily using this art.

The significance of the illusions that Lady Butterfly pertains to what they wield. The weapons they carry are eerily similar to those in Mibu Village, near the forest where she trained. Perhaps the guy was from the village and couldn't bear seeing his friends and family in those illusions...

Floating passage is the third strongest combat art in the game with only one caveat you have to use weapon buff on it even before the patch. The damage is roughly 95% of one mind when buffed too of course. The damage is 3rd only to one mind and spiral cloud passage.

Floating passage is not continuous, unless you continually tap R1. You can stop mid way (on any of the 5 swings) and block or dodge. I use it with the black feather thing (the one that absorbs damage). I use, (holding L1) R1 twice, then tap circle and block. So you get distance and are ready for that perfectly timed hit you can't seem to avoid using floating passage. Then I'm behind them, and can use the full 5 hits if i choose.

On certain enemies Floating Passage does pretty decent posture damage, also it does good chip damage to certain bosses health if you time the first two swings correctly. It doesn't do anything impressive, but the first two swings are pretty fast. 2:30 the Shadow Rush skill is pretty useful against these guys if you want a non-cheese method.

floating passage is good for hp damage, although really garbage for posture damage, its HP damage is amazing but posture is basically everything in this game, so it isnt really too good

Lady Butterfly took me 6 tries. Seven Ashina Spears has taken a total of maybe 20 tries and I still haven't beat him.

I used Floating Passage against Isshin, it seemed very effective. I didn't try out Whirlwind, but Passage did a LOT of posture and health damage, every attack except for the last can land if you catch him in a vulnerable state from behind. For example, when he does Ashina Cross, run behind and use Floating Passage for a ton of damage. Other things are most likely better/just as good, but it seemed very helpful for me.

Ive found all those on my first playthrough. You sir, let me down.

I’m on like my 4th play through and floating passage is the only combat art I use. Supper effective against Isshan Sword Saint.

The floating passage is Bad? I used that art more times then I can remember. Stronger enemy's can power through it but that's why you should only use it as a substitute for your normal attack. I'd say the floating passage and the Spiral Cloud Passage are some of the strongest. The point is that they dont break posture but that they hit multiple times really quickly and no enemy can block all of the strikes.

Believe it or not, flowing passage is really good on boss battles specially human ones, i defeated isshin sword saint with flowing passage easily

Floating passage is good when you combine it with bestowals ninjutsu can kill a group of enemy at once, and combine it with flame to inflict burn and greatly dmg the posture

0:13 For those watching in the future Floating passage got buffed and its pretty great now. It's worth getting since it has more range then the normal attack, has a second attack move for continues strikes. and is pretty fast.

Its upgraded form also makes it even more effective for damaging multiple enemies, who don't necessarily have to be in front of you. It costs spirit emblems to use, but the cost is pretty minimal for the whole combo. It's definitely a solid combat art, at least against enemies who aren't hard to stagger. Also i know I'm responding to a months-old comment, but I just recently started another playthrough in anticipation of the free update that's coming. So now I'm obsessed again

Forreal. Its my go-to attack. Some enemies who usually block through Combos wont block ever hit from Floating Passage or attack through it. Free damage.

It works decently well against those purple guys, it will usually do some vitality damage and if you're lucky they will try to jump during your attack. This combined with deflecting/counter their 4 phase combo ending with kick is usally enough to kill them by breaking posture (tried near 2nd hirata main hall idol, which is a fairly decent xp farming area)

It's great. After initial attack it combos with 2 r1's directly after. So you get like a 5 hit attack. I use it for any enemy you need divine confetti for and it melts them.

Hello, floating passage made wonders for me against Owl Father, using it right after jumping his swipe attack I was able to do a decent amount of damage and the final attack made him startle a little interrupting his slam and giving me a window to sneak one or to normal attacks! I really like how everything is this game has some utility even if marginal.

Floating passage does more posture damage then whirlwind, since these are really the only two early game combat arts, floating passage is the better choice against most early bosses. Gyobu especially. Floating passage destroys him after the horse rears from firecrackers. I do haft to say tho, whirlwind is my preferred choice because I dont really use combat arts anymore, just proper reflects and tools

I'm pretty sure Owl (father) uses shadowfall, the mushin art superior to shadowrush. You can tell by the follow-up slashes after you either tank or deflect the initial charge. Most players probably won't even see the whole attack though because it's so easy to mikiri counter
