Some personnal insight and supposition here : You're never explicit about how the monks are experimenting on children but I suppose it's by infesting their bodies with these disgusting centipedes (which must be quiet painful as they are immortal and always moving :/). It reminds me of Bioshock where the little sister swallow a sea slug to cultivate Adam which allows humans to have godly powers. Secondly, how the High Priest and his congregation died in the cave ? There is only one possibilty : someone must have used the Fushigiri on them, but who ? Tomoe ?

5:58 I think you misunderstood these "short assassins." They weren't spying on Asina, they were residents of Ashina. You can see that they said "Genichiro on our side." If you noticed, there was one more short assassin hiding behind a tree. This short assassin is the "rat" that Isshin was after, and this one was spying on the two short assassins that were expressing their concerns for Isshin's health. Not all of the short assassins are rats.

I never liked the game.

Did anybody else get the dragons return ending first? I really love Senpou Temple and the Divine Child is probably my favourite character. I just kept going to talk with her and get that sweet rice. Once she told me about returning the dragon's blood, I knew it's what I wanted to do. Though I did have to look up the damn puppeteer kite thing, not gonna lie.

I wonder, are Kuro and the Divine Child even children? Or do they just look like children because of their power of immortality that ceases aging? Like I wonder if their age is that of a child.

I think it’s quite similar to the story of Yao Bikuni, the immortal Buddhist priestess. She was able to grow into adulthood but she just wasn’t able to die, she outlived many of her family members, friends and others. I think VaatiVidya has more about her on this series.

I still have a long way to go in Sekiro, but I couldn't resist watching a few lore videos. And I must say: I *love* how FromSoft always manages to implement this theme of corruption (usually in some way related to over-ambition, greed or selfish acts of men or Gods) into their worlds and I love the way how they depict it. There's something about the way things 'work' in Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro that I just really love - in terms of storytelling (and lack thereof), combat and world building. These games have spawned many good (and terrible) clones, but these remain the true masterpieces for me.

Actually, the Inner Sanctum where the Divine Child is at is a part of the temple with the illusive hall bell. When you get to the inner sanctum you can open a door that leads to that room.

Not as good a story as all the other souls games honestly. It's very stale and plain. It has nothing I can take from it and it's very just "plot happens and then thing happens between groups of plot things and then more plot and then Reveal and then plot the end."

I watched all your Sekiro lore videos, but you never discuss what the "rice" is, from the divine child of rejuvenating water. Many say it is centipede eggs because she told you to chew it. But they didn't mention that it has something to do with her body... after he ate 2 snake heart, you get "fine snow" instead of "rice" because her body temp drop, which seriously made me think that it is literary her egg...

Oh god I hate those infested monks with giant centipedes nested in them. Creepiest motherfuckers FromSoft have ever designed IMO, the only other thing that comes close is the Sewer Centipedes from Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, but those are cartoonish enough to be kinda funny. The monks are just rotten to the core. Nothing funny or amusing about them at all.

Feels like with how depraved the monks are in this game, won’t be surprised if the Interior Ministry pulled a Nobunaga on them after they mopped up the rest of Ashina force.

btw, the assassins with the long shield hats are not Senpou rats. Them and Blackhat badger actually fight for Ashina, it's the round hat rats that are working for Senpou temple, as one can be seen spying on the two shield hatters while they talk about Genichiro being on their side. That, and the Divine Child doesn't reside in some special "realm", the door to the Inner Sanctum is just down the bridge, it is directly connected to the main hall the immortal monks are in.

Hypothetical thought: what if the dragon is a Great One, taking on a form pleasing to those around it, (or perhaps the people lack the insight to see the dragon for what it really is)? Hmmmm... The power stems from the (old) blood, and many see it as a sacred medium, while it simultaneously corrupts all who are exposed to it. Perhaps the people of Ashina lean more towards faith in the blood and waters, while the ministry fears it because they know how destructive and dangerous it is, in some ways like the beastly scourge. No real concrete proof, but it is an interesting theory.

This game has such a rich storyline and rich mechanics and gameplay. maybe one of the best game I've ever played.

When they say the Dragon's Heritage came from the west, are they saying it came from somewhere somewhat like Europe? Or just the west of this “Japan?”

plus it's very unlikely that it came from Europe because the divine dragon is obviously an eastern dragon not a western dragon. European dragons have wings and a more lizard-like body walking on 4 legs while the divine dragon's body is serpent-like and has more than 4 legs with no wings.

One question: Why does everybody says sudoku instead of sepuku even in dead serious videos? Is this a YouTube monetization thing?

If there is one boss/enemy that straight up did not deserve to die at all, or even be fought, are the folding screen monkeys. I would also understand putting the second ape that shows up when you fight the headless guardian ape.
