A technicality i would have liked explained a little.. Sword Saint Isshin is apparently immortal and the reason he feels he has to destroy Sekiro is because Sekiro and Kuro’s wanted to server inmortality granted by the Divine Dragon.. How is Isshin’s immortality related to Kuro if he was resurrected through the black mortal blade?

I think it’s interesting how From Software games always show these amazing worlds during their final hours. Demon Souls, Darks Souls 1, 2, and 3, Bloodblrne, Sekiro, all these games show these complex civilizations, nations, and worlds as they rot and bleed out before their inevitable end at the hands of the player. I think it’s part of what makes them unique; instead of fighting to save the game world, you’re fighting to end it.

One of the best comments on this topic i've read so far. Totally agree and it's fucking sad this is the true way our world runs its course. There is nobody to save us all in the end but the people themselves, neither some hero nor any of all the gods we pray to. And i think this is what FromSoft tries to say, as japanese art more often does compared to western studios, if you have a look at studio Ghibli as an example.

What strikes me about Issin is... when you fight him as the Sword Saint, he’s stronger than he ever was in life. His body is at its peak, but he also possesses the knowledge he has accumulated, knowledge he likely kept accumulating it all the way until the end of his life. It’s damn cool

Just a wild guess, but I think that Tomoe is responsible for Isshin's missing left eye. In the opening cut scene, his eyes are fine, so the eye injury happened after this event sometime. He says that she was almost the death of him, so it follows that he somehow came to be in battle with her and lost his eye.

Either route they go with an Expansion there is plenty for them to expand on.....tomoe obviously and the style, a Shura expansion complete with Shura Skills and techniques, and even replacing the prosthetic with the shura arm and skills for it, seeing it on the demon of hatred that it can "stretch" means it can be used by sekiro as a replacement for the grapple easily and they can think of other uses for it, the shura could easily leave ashina and go after the interior ministry and the other factions....there is enough lore for this to go on for a while, and it's partly fantasy so it's really open ended.

It's my first "souls" game and the beautiful setting, gameplay, and lore keep me hooked and coming back despite how difficult it is for me (I'm not a gamer at all). I'm so glad you made these videos. Definitely the most beautiful game by Miyazaki yet. I also like the clear main story line. The way of Ashina--defeating your enemy by any means possible--reminds me of "Anything-Goes School" of Ranma 1/2.

Can someone please explain why Isshin would want to fight you in the end, when everything leading up to that only shows him aiding you against his grandson's will?

In a way Genichiro's reckless stupidity and antagonizing Kuro and Sekiro hastened the destruction of Ashina.

@S o u n d W a v e s there is also that detail you know that white mark on sekiro right side of his head maybe you turn all white after enough time that's why I thought maybe she was tomoe because she was also bound by dragon oath

@Naoufal Chakir True. The villagers in Mibu Village seem far more corrupted than the Okami clan, but that could possibly be due to that being their only source of water. I'm not sure whether that means the Okami haven't gone that far or whether they have some resilience to it. As for Tomoe, if she really hadn't drank any of the Fountainhead Waters, I'd take it that she was one of the original members of the clan. The refusal to partake in the waters could have something to do with why she left, but I doubt she would have been kicked out if it really was her body before the Divine dragon.

I wouldnt think so. The Okami are fish-like humanoids, with a stretched posture and blue skin. By comparison, the woman before the Divine Dragon seems perfectly human, minus the fact they're in the Fountainhead Palace implying something a bit more. Unless Tomoe isnt a pure-blood Okami, she shouldn't look so humanlike.

Sekiro is going to take the Divine Heir either way. Notice that Isshin's death is "Immortality Severed" instead of the normal "Shinobi Execution". Isshin's current body needed the Divine Heir to continue living and Sekiro is there to take that away. Also, Isshin's last wish is to fight Sekiro so I guess he just wanted a good fight, Genichiro's wish be damned.

I would say that the english dub for Sekiro is just as good as the japanese dub, but Kuro’s voice actor alone brings down the english dub’s quality by about 50%
