This video looks better than any other series I have on YT thanks to the cinematic wizardry of "TheParryGod", whose channel you should absolutely check out: https://www.youtube.com/user/xricsx I'm realising that my videos can become far better when you collaborate with others who have their own strengths :) Commissioning him to hunt down footage has also made it possible for me to maintain uploads while also being a first time father, and I'm super thankful to him for that. Give him some love

I know i'm late to the party, just recently beat Sekiro but I noticed something. In the Immortal Severance ending if you look closely There is a large wound on Sekiro's chest from when he was cut down in the Hirata Estate. This is taking a huge leap but the dragon mirrors Sekiro almost perfectly, not just with its wounds but also when you remember the beginning of the game. Sekiro is found by owl, in a strange land, lost and out of place.

So is the Divine Dragon meant to be malicious? I gather that its blood is a curse for everyone who has it. Kuro and Takeru are pursued for it, and out of a lust for immortality Owl, Genichiro, the Mibu Priest, the Palace Nobility and so many others turn on people they cared for and commit evil acts to maintain the immortality of the dragon’s heritage. But I had always presumed this was because the Dragon was cursed by its own heritage: that it was caged in the west for its heritage and hunted in the east. But the mention that it asks for offerings and usurped dragons that already lived at Fountainhead Palace makes it seem significantly less innocent in the fighting it incites. I don’t imagine there’s any definitive answer to this but I’m curious to start a discussion. Does anyone here think the dragon means to be destructive or is it a benign being that’s cursed by dragon blood as much as Kuro and Takeru are?

I always figured the shrine priestess praying at the shrine of the Sakura Dragon was Tomoe, and that, unable to obtain the Dragon's tears, she never gave up and her spirit never left the divine realm. Perhaps that lingering spirit of a lightning-wielding warrior is why lightning only strikes at the most opportune times in the battle against the Sakura Dragon?

I have a loose, unfounded theory about the Divine Dragon's missing arm. The Dragon's settling in Ashina has sort of corrupted the entire land with Divine influence mortals aren't really equipped to handle. The waters, the Dragon's Heritage, and all forms of immortality stem from the Dragon and do nothing but bring suffering and violence to the people of Ashina. I think also the specific events of the game which seem to be cyclical are also inherited from the dragon. There might be some sort of past drama that unfolded in the Divine Realm that has certain motifs which manifest in the mortal realm. A lost arm is the obvious one we have to think about, but there are a number of repeated generational story elements that I think might be mirrored in the Divine Realm. An orphan on the battlefield, a lightning wielding royal craving power, a one armed warrior who rivals him, etc. I believe the Divine Dragon has a story of its own that includes these elements and I think the warriors of Ashina are shackled to some sort of myth that they are blindly acting out unbeknownst to them.

The Shrine Maiden that was "praying" outside the dragon's shrine might be Tomoe. She could have lost the fight against the divine dragon because of her lack of skill or lack of the red mortal blade. She looks human but since you can drink the water to become fish-like, it reasons that if the divine dragon took her immorality away she might become human-like. This would explain why she is the only dead "human" whose skin is pale white and isn't decaying. We know Genichiro went looking for the mortal blade because of the monk inside the illusory realm but couldn't get it. Genichiro has no reason to look for the mortal blade, expect to use it to kill you because killing you means Kuro might give him the dragon's blood. It is likely that Genichiro went looking for the divine dragon/realm so he can ask the dragon directly but obviously couldn't go. The dragon might have become aware of him though and offered him Tomoe's black mortal blade which would have been resting at his doorstep to kill you. There's no proof this is just a game theory.

I know this video is a year old, but I just got around to completing more of the endings and didn't want to be totally spoiled. This video is great, but Tomoe owning the Black Blade doesn't fit with her lore. We're told by Emma that she witnessed Tomoe fail at suicide because *she didn't have the mortal blade.* The black mortal blade should have worked just as well a the red one for that. Emma also gives us text written by Tomoe, revealing she sought the mortal blade from Senpou temple and failed, as well as her inability to return to the Divine Realm.

8:35 “You beast” I heard a comment theorize the Ogre was probably someone white who was just seen as an unintelligent monster and it’s pretty similar to how horror stories are created. Perhaps this is how we view in upper class through the lenses of monster and horror. Ugly creatures who’s tentacles squirm around looking for anything to feast upon. Hiding themselves within their dark room completely hidden from anything real life as to offer.

I have my own theory about the maiden in the sanctuary. I believe she was a member of a clan which worshipped the divine dragon in its homeland. Then, they were chased away into ashina. I believe the maiden was the dragon's craddle who carried it to the source of the fountainhead waters. Senpou temple's high priest had to had gottend to the palace in order to obtain the mortal blade and hide it, so he probably learnt about the ritual that took the dragon to Japan during his time there.
6 måneder sidenLexender
This video is old now but a connection to Japanese folklore was lost here, Carps (specially Koi) have a legend that wheb manage to climb of a waterfall, the gods saw his perseverance and transformed him into a dragon, carps are also ties to childreb in this way, youngs being that are working hard to grow up into dragons. Thats why the people drink the water, they don't DIRECTLY want to be carps, they want a chance to become dragons themselves.

I had an interesting idea while replaying the fountainhead portion recently. I was trying to guess at where the infestation began and thought about where centipedes live in nature; rotten trees and logs. So with the old tree spirits and the Sakura tree itself being afflicted by dragon rot, doesn't it make sense that they spawned the centipedes and started the infestation? If that's true it would also mean the rejuvenating waters are just a by-product of dragon rot. Seems to fit together well, sorry if you've covered it in a different video.

Wow, I really gave no attention while playing the game. Just finished it & watched your videos and couldn't help but have more respect for developers and you for such level of details. I have few basic questions (sorry if I missed something during videos)- 1. What's the deal with Kuro being a divine heir of Dragon? How does one become that? Is it one of Senpou's success experiments? 2. What's the origin of Mortal blades? Who created them & why? 3. Why did Isshin fight Sekiro? Is it because he wanted to have a fight, hopefully in hopes that Sekiro was best chance at ending his resurrection after a metal fight or he was like, okay, wtf, I'm not glad about this way but if I'm back now, let glory be back ?

Maybe Corrupted Monk was not on noble’s side. Maybe, she was guarding that no one could go in or out. Nobles needed wedding ceremony to feed youth, or else they might eat okamis, but corrupted monk blocked their supply of youth, after their massacre by sending okamis to ashina. Or maybe she lived too long and saw everything.
