Min 5:40 Warning this mod breaks your game. Lots of bugs. For example, you can't get past the dragon at the beginning of the game. The other way from darkroot is a bug to. There is a Boss who dont take damg. I cast all my spells on him. But I dont make any damg. Its a big bug. The game ends after the first 2 bosses because there are no free ways to continue playing. Please first develop the mod and then advertise it!

Other than making Bows, Crossbows, and Magic work in game, I guess.. a total conversion mod would be great. Only.. it takes some great level designers to pull that off. Back to bows and magic, it's a pity the games focus almost entirely on blades. It makes DS games have extremely low replayability. I have basically Stength runs and Dexterity runs.. and that's it. And tbh, there's not much difference between Str and Dex, since you can wield almost all melee weapons in game anyway on any of the two builds. So technically.. you can more or less try all weapons in game in just one run. Magic runs are possible but an absolute pain, pure Bow runs are only for the craziest, most patient players.. It's disappointing, DS games have great world building and some interesting AIs to mess with. It's a pity there's so little replayability.

5:00 That's what I like about Dark Souls 2, I can actually find life gems and herbs that I can use for healing and refill spell uses. I'm not bound to rest at a bonfire and to continue playing. In DS3 when playing a mage I just want to continue playing without having to rest and reset the world state all the time. Nice of them to add gear with FP regeneration, but what's the point if you have to wait for 10 minutes to regenerate enough for a couple spells which takes 10 seconds to cast.

Daughters of Ash added more of those delightful Toxic blow dart enemies into Blighttown as well, also I like thed troll of the Master Key in that it actually broke permanently if you used it once, and anyone who played the mod would know what they did with Capra Demon.

Ahhhh yes... the daughters of ash mod... little did I know I got a taste of that mod when I stumbled upon blight towns back entrance and my wonderful friend told me the way I needed to go once I got down to ground level was left.... I enjoyed the "amazing" journey through blight town backwards just to find out I had to go all the way back qnd that I officially wasted 3 hours of my life.

My first time through Dark Souls Remastered I picked the Master Key as my gift thinking "This probably just works for the first hour or so of gameplay for a head start. There's no way it's actually a master key" I was wrong. So my first time thru Blighttown was backwards, and severely underleveled

my only problem with cinders so far is the added spells feel really same-y between schools. They all have rapid cast spells, fast long range spells, spells that summon other projectiles, etc. Its much more powerful but I feel like the identity of the different spell schools was lost with how they approached buffing magic

Instead of that first one, how bout a mod for every soulsborne game, that removes the jump mechanic entirely. Aside from sekiro, these games should NOT have ANY platforming. In bloodborne, ive been killed by accidentally jumping, at least 50x more than ive actually jumped intentionally.

I'm currently enjoying the fog gate randomizer for DS3, you never know where you'll end up and often have to find new ways of moving through zones. As levels get randomized so does gear progression so you end up using different weapons than in regular playthroughs.

Cindered Mod was kinda underrated in this video, it's one of the most prime definitions of a addon mod that can change the game completely while keeping its core just perfecting it I've seen since Ultimate Apocalypse for Soulstorm

Unpopular opinion: Daughters of Ash actually sucks. The original game is paced well, and feels like you're making progress even when it's destroying you, while DoA pulls you along doing stupid stuff and wandering aimlessly in several different locations for hours without any real direction, only to place absurdity at the end of it, such as making the dagger girl and the Painted World invader into bosses, upping the speed of the iron golem for no reason, or placing the demon firesage in the painted world where it's basically impossible to get to him except for 1 entry point (above) because he will aggro and attack you through walls. Granted the firesage is probably unintended, but still. I got sick of it after trying to deal with Nito and the "gravedaughter" only to die repeatedly because, of all things, my pyromancies were glitching out, and said gravedaughter was doing way too much damage.

Yeah it's a chore to play, and an unimaginable chore to even think to replay. DS1 is one of the most replayable games ever, Daughters removes all the fun routes and sequence breaks you can do and forces its god awful pace on you, and even replaces interesting treasure with stuff like dung pies and souls instead of interesting items that were on the same spot on the original.

+dying appears to raise hp and damage of enemies and bosses? It certainly seemed to in my experience anyway. The only cool part was that they turned the first titanite demon into a boss.

"Level design of the first Dark Souls is god tier" Until Tomb of Giants, one of the worst designed levels I've ever seen in a video game. Just because it circles around doesn't change how just boring and unfair it can be. It may be my opinion, but it doesn't come off as challenging or interesting in any way like the rest of the game. It's the absolute biggest dip in quality for DS1 and would be improved without the level entirely. No one talks about Tomb of Giants and seems to just ignore how bad it is. Everything after Anor Londo is rarely talked about except people hating Duke's archive and saying it's one of the other worst levels.

Should I be running past things? Even on focused build playthroughs, I fight EVERYTHING, even my sl1 playthrough of DS1. Am I doing it wrong?

I played Daughters of Ash to the end and it was just a frustrating experience through and through. It's all those Kaizo Mario romhacks put together into Dark souls skin and it is infinitely infuriating. Im not surprised that vaati liked the useless lore additions over everything else.

A souls game where you need to kill all the mobs to proceed to the next area should be great.
