The english dub for sekiro is so weird ifyou are playing for the first time pls change to the original. It has much More feel to it

@Simon Petrikov To get the scene you have to beat Genichiro at that part. It’s not tough, it plays just like his Ashina Castle version without the third phase. Genichiro then takes a knee, panting and cursing Sekiro. Then a shuriken comes flying and Sekiro blocks it in time, but Genichiro then slashes Sekiro’s left arm and says something about not playing fair. Then he walks away and one of those long nose mobs with fur armor looks at him then picks up Kuro, following Genichiro. Scene ends.

@FactSpeaker1993 That could be. I've never actually seen the scene myself. I've only seen AfroSenju get it. I just thought it was Owl because it seems like something he'd do in order for his plan to work.

Never expected this game to have such deep lore. When I first started playing this game, I was for the gameplay. Later on stayed for the story. From Software is the best team when it comes to making both story and gameplay. Not many other could do that.

I like the English, it's very well done. I switched after the first couple hours to English and I love it. Tge voice actors did a great job bringing the characters to life. The way that General on the horse enters the battlefield, you can ear the spot in his throat gargle as he yells!

Ick. The English Dub. It’s not bad, but this is another work of Japanese animation where the mouth movements are so detailed that any dub inherently looks and sounds stilted and awkward. Kind of a shame. The English VA’s are actually really good.

In Souls games thier mouths usually donr move at all so it doesnt bother me at all. I love how it sounds in English :)

Hey I just wanted to say that I've enjoyed your content over the years on fromsoft games, but this was the first video that made me pretty unhappy. there is no real spoiler warning and, despite it having basically nothing to do with the first part of the game, you spend a heavy amount of time spoiling the owl story arc - why? this info isn't essential to understanding the first part of the game, and there isn't even a part 2 to this video that you could have explained all of that. this spoiled the secret ending for me, as i was trying to catch up after playing halfway through the game. very disappointed

6:40 The sheer upper body strength of this like 9 year old child, lifting this big-ass burning beam up and delivering his whole Shakespeare death scene monologue then presumably dragging an entire adult man out from under the same beam, which is still on fire. I suppose we're lucky he decided he needed a soldier and didn't just take off south to go beat genichiro's face in with the fucking beam.

19:49-20:19 Whats his point in this segment, that Genichiro has red eyes because he was unable to create an army of soldiers who have the rejuvnating waters in their blood judging by the shriveled failed experiments in Ashina Dungeon or depths, whatever its called, and he has red eyes because of that? Does just anyone with unmet goals get red eyes or do you need rejuvinating waters to be immortal in general. I mean he does say "The Interior Ministry fears Ashina, her eyes blood shot of the waters of rejuvenation." Do you have to be undead maybe, or is it something else entirely? Theres alot of beasts or more undefined creatures I think is something you could called some of the enemies in this game, with red eyes, what about them?

When you fight lady butterfly it is merely a remembrance of the past. Sekiro prays at the dilapidated temple and relives those events in a “dream” !

So we were the bad guy in way all along? We carve thru Ashina and make it easier for the Interior Ministry to invade...that hurts. I just did the Shura ending and got Platinum. I absolutely adore this game. I hope FromSoft can one day revisit it in the future, I'm willing to wait.

Question to my fellow Fromfans: I’ve always found the almost unbelievable quality of the voice acting to be a huge part of their games. Father Gascoigne, The Twin Princes, Micolash, Eileen the Crow, Father Ariandel - I don’t know where to begin describing how much the actors contributed to these games with their performance in terms of atmosphere and psychological horror. In Sekiro however, the english voice acting sounds incredibly unconvincing to the point of being cringeworthy to me. I played it with Japanese audio because it just felt like that was the way this game was supposed to be played, but switching to English didn’t just feel like I changed the language, but that the quality of the acting dropped significantly. I’m a huge From fan, but it really felt to me like they shipped the game in Japanese, and then some third-party studio hired some actors to “get the English release ready”. I’m sure that’s not actually how it went, I’m just genuinely baffled by the drop in quality. I’m not a huge social media guy, so I have no idea if this has been discussed already but... am I the only one thinking this?

It's too bad we haven't gotten, and at this point probably won't be getting, any DLC for this game. What I mostly would like some more insight on is the moments leading up to events like the Forgotten War and the corruption of places like Senpou Temple and Fountainhead Palace. The typical assumption would be that these places were once very tranquil and pleasant places to live in or visit. This assumption is based both on the beautiful scenery of both locations, such as a lake that is essentially a giant Koi pond surrounded by Sakura trees, along with the inherently gentle nature of Buddhist temples, and the fact usually in stories with these types of places, they were incredibly happy and lively before falling to ruin. However, I feel as though there are implications that this isn't quite the case with both Senpou Temple and Fountainhead Palace, that any peaceful times they had were most likely a façade on the surface. The only reason I include Senpou Temple is mainly a gut feeling I have that the experiments with the Children of the Rejuvenating Waters was a plan in the making, possibly for years, rather than anything like an over night decision. It could simply be that I'd find it more interesting that while the monks would follow Buddha's teachings, the head priest and likely a few others, encouraged this purely to deceive anyone looking at or visiting the temple, while they discussed how to obtain immortality in secret. I forget all the details of Senpou's lore in its entirety, but if they only started their experiments after Genichiro became interested in immortality as well, then perhaps he caught wind of it, after approaching the temple priests only to so much as show interest in this and hoping they make successful findings with immortality, gave them the excuse they needed to proceed with their horrible experiments. Fountainhead Palace on the other hand, the reason I think it might not have ever been too much better than when we visit it is how the Okami women suddenly invaded Ashina. Since there is nothing that tells us why they decided to invade and go to war with Ashina, we are allowed to speculate multiple different reasons. I believe that some form of horrible conditions or lack of something is what drove the Okami to invade, due to the fact they had been on fairly good terms with Ashina for quite a while. A big point of this, for me, being their relationship with Mibu village, with whom they had set up trade with and made a wedding tradition. If the Fountainhead Palace was such a wonderful paradise, then it would seem odd for them to destroy such a beneficial relationship purely out of ambition and without being provoked or instigated by Ashina. With this in mind, one of the theories for the reason why the Okami invaded Ashina supports my claim, and that is because the aging Nobles wanted the vitality of the people of Ashina. If this is the case, this means there is a potentially major problem in the Palace's hierarchy, being that the strong Okami warrior women for some reason are unable to refuse orders from the aging and potentially mentally incompetent nobles. If the marriage ceremonies with Mibu were a way for the nobles to drain their vitality from the start, then they have gotten even more out of this deal since they've also formed trade with each other, getting slugs for the great carp, and likely other things I may be forgetting (such as possibly worshipped by the villagers). Despite having such a good deal for them, the nobles decide to throw that away in order to drain the vitality of even more people, but they weren't willing to set up any new deals or tricks to get any of Ashina's young people up to the palace, and instead tried to take it by force.

I looked at this game a bit differently after I found out about the Samurai concept of "Shudo". "So that's how Isshin got inside Genichiro!"

I can finally watch this video. I haven't watched this video all the way through, because my PC wasn't able to run this game. Didn't want to ruin my experience. Thanks for this, it was worth the wait for me
