Havel is actually found in game. At least in the remastered version. He’s right before Darkroot Basin on the lowest level of the spiral staircase to the Taurus Demon fight. Don’t know if having the DLC changes anything

I actually think all of the silver knights are Gwynevere's children (she's a goddes of fertility so she must have had A LOT of them) and they look demigod sized so it was probably havel, not for heirs but for fodder, to lower the reliance on humans to fill that role. What if I told you Gwyn didn't actually sacrifice himself, but in reality his army? Whose ashes line the wasteland of the kiln. It's not Gwyn's ashes, otherwise he wouldn't be watching over the flame & be there to fight us at the end. Remember, Gwyn brought the majority of his army to the kiln after the war with the demons of Izalith that had weakened him. Plus I think he went hollow because he was trapped in the kiln for a thousand years. You know, now that I'm thinking about it maybe the plot against the God's was actually plotted by Seath, the Witch of Izalith, Nito & the Four Kings to get rid of Gwyn by locking him into the Kiln. I mean, that would explain why the kiln is sealed and why it can only be opened with their four lord souls. Also, as Havel is a renown dragon slayer you'd think he'd know Seath is weak to lightning, so that club couldn't have been intended for him. Seath isn't weak to occult damage, but Gwyn, Gwyndolin, Ornstien & Smough are. If this is true, then either Havel's hatred of Seath was used as a scapegoat for the 'Plot Against the God's' to cover the lords' asses or he's still a co-conspirator and hated Seath's, but didn't do anything anything to him.

To be fair, giving up fragments of your own soul does seem like the kind of thing that would make you hollow quicker.

I think Gwynn is WAY more benevolent people paint him as, he could EASILY sit in his throne while burning undead and expanding his Era, but instead, the first one he burned ... Was himself

Also it should be noted that Gwyn had a tendency to put his enemies to work rather than destroying them. He raised a dragon himself and put it in the Ringed City, he made a dragon a Duke of his kingdom, he gave 4 humans shards of his soul, the Way of White had mostly human followers, he put demons in service of his pantheon.

I have this crazy theory that Aldrich was actually right. Hear me out: So Aldrich dreamt with "The age of deep seas" which didn't made any sense at the time because after fire dark was supposed to come. But Gwyn made such effort to prevent the Age o Darkness that he actually succeeded and no Age of Dark came after the world had burned out. After we find Filianore we are transfered to the end of the world and Gael has the dark soul, very few undead made to the end without hollowing and it's safe to say that eather Gael or us killed whoever made it because we hand over the dark soul to "Aria". So when dark was supposed to come there was no dark left, it had all been burned out or used to paint the next painted world that was hidden. So Aldrich was right, instead of dark we see a sea of ash proof of Gwyn's fear, he was so afraid that he rather burn his world than see it's natural end. While the painted world goes on the one outside has nothing left but a Deep Sea of Ash. Like it for Vaati to see and think about it
