The Dark Soul is still in the heart of this game and I'm glad FromSoftware is making more soulsborne games.

Gotta move on about soulsborne for now, Sekiro is just Magnificent, especially the combat system it's so immersive plus did I mention the Hitbox it's smoother than any souls game. A really great Job from Miyazaki, new game will have new fans indeed...and they think Sekiro is easy??? dafuk even Dark Souls,Bloodborne and Nioh veteran will need to learn new playing style from this game. I'm souls game sucker and this game is Masterpiece at its own right.

I’m super hyped for this, the combat looks fun, and it will be nice to shake things up. I’m not too worried about the story, Fromsoftware has always been good in that aspect, for me anyway. And finally, the scenery just looks beautiful!

Can't lie, I'm concerned about the Activision involvement, given their penchant for being stupid (but rich and devious enough that they keep going anyway). But I'm also really interested in how FROM do their signature sort of game with the changes they're making. I think it's actually a VERY good sign that they're taking some creative risks and challenging themselves. How do you do a souls-style game without XP you can drop? Or levelling up. Will there still be all sorts of hidden items to find? What sort of risk/reward system will they implement? Will we be able to upgrade our equipment? Upgrade abilities? As a person who doesn't like online multiplayer in _any_ games (if you like that, cool, I would rather have local in-person multiplayer or strictly single-player focused games) I see no big loss in that regard -- the souls games will still exist either way, so it's not like we're losing anything. I'm also hoping that with the Activision involvement, FROM can afford some major upgrades to their graphics and such. Limit all that clipping through geometry that happens, get some nice dynamic lighting, high-end shaders, and a robust code base to run it all. I'm looking forward to it, but the TRIPLE A publisher involvement is a valid concern. They love their money so much, they don't mind trashing games with loot boxes, mtx, ludicrous season passes. As well as chasing fads without understanding them. And they really love getting well loved studios in a contractual bind so that they are in a position to sell themselves to the Triple A publisher to resolve the problem... and then that studio gets cannibalized and misused before being killed.

Admittedly I'm initially of the idea this new combat system would do wonders for PVP. But because of the erratic nature of players... and the fact there is only the one.. maybe not.

Chceck Tenchu Z, a game created by From Software, has a few stats you can increase....I`ve read somewhere, that in Sekiro; the sculptor levels you up.... Are you sure there`s no level up in Sekiro????

For the first time vaati, I disagree sekiro is an evolution of the souls genre as was bloodborne from dark souls 1 and demon souls and as was dark souls from demon souls.

People say that they would rather have a bloodborne 2, and I'm like, "did you not hear all the abilities to do with blood, also the place where you are at, at the start of the trailer is spookily similar to the Hunters dream where there is flowers everywhere and the big bright moon is ever present." It would require some genius storytelling to weave this into the bloodborne universe, but it is definitely do able and would be awesome.

Before Demon Souls / Dark Souls 1-3 / Bloodbourne and to some extent, NIOH.. We weren't "missing" this fantastic gameplay.. We didn't know we'd love it until we seen it first hand. This is why I'll be buying this on day one, knowing that an open mind opens new possibilities, and perhaps new favorite games.

In the interview with the Dev team ( gamespot? just google it ) Dev team mentioned that they wanted to make Tenchu game. However as the development progressed and they partnered with Activision, the game gained it's own identity so it became Sekiro instead of Tenchu

I‘m a bit late I guess, but you have certainly got me interested. When the announcement was made, I wasn’t really interested. The main reason being the Japanese scenario which isn’t particularly appealing for me personally. To make matters worse, you started out by mentioning that it would be more „open world“ which is a massive red flag for me. I don’t like the recent open world trend. But then this is From Software, so I‘m sure they won’t build an Assassins Creed style open world. Then came the good stuff: Single player focus is really great. I’m not a fan of multi player at all. So yay for that. You’re also right that moving on from Dark Souls is a good thing. And the posture system looks like it could be really fun. Then I‘m also a big fan of stealth play. I‘m slightly worried as it isn’t trivial to implement it well, but hey, it‘s From Software. Jumping and grappling are interesting, they will probably make the game faster. In general, it looks more action than RPG, but then the stealth will take some speed out again. Anyway, after seeing this video, I’m pretty positive that I’ll buy this game. Something I wasn’t before. I think I’m even warming up to the setting. I don’t think I’ll enjoy the world building as much as Dark Souls, but the mechanics look promising. Not necessarily better, but a shakeup is always refreshing.

Samurai and shinobi would commonly use their hair in a pony tail so it wouldn't get int the way during battle. Is a style that was not only common in the region and the time, but served but social standing and practical purposes.

Dark Souls players are bad at evading and prefer to hide behind shield. Miyazaki created Bloodborne. Dark Souls and Bloodborne players are bad at parrying. Miyazaki creates Sekiro. Fuck that guy.

Just play the game again, I don't like the idea that demons souls, dark souls and bloodborne are so bad you have make the excuse of "oh I'll make a character with this weapon on this playthrough" instead of just playing the game for the sake of replaying it.

God of war doesn't have much customisation, other than changing the design of the shield, all the "choice" you have is in meaningless gear designed to waste your time with fake RPG mechanics.

Who needs modern RPG elements when you have a game that looks this beautiful and fluid? This is Ninja Gaiden 2018.

I don't trust Activision at all. I don't, for a second, believe that Activision will leave From Soft to do their job properly. There will be a catch, and until I start seeing otherwise, I'm not buying any game tied to Activision. Activision and EA are budget crunchers, hell-bent on rushing and cutting development for money. They expect us to pay for their greed and will, at every corner, attempt to get you to spend more money. They taint everything they come into contact with. I'll wait for reviews before I go anywhere near this. I certainly hope for From Soft's sake that they are left to their own devices.

No character customisation, it will only take away from the game it really isn't needed. Does how the character appears matter that much? I'd rather them focus on gameplay.

They'll need some kind of customization to keep it interesting, otherwise it'll get tedious fast.

Hi! Miyazaki and From ruined Dark Souls. All I wanted was for them to leave DS1 alone but nooo they had to "Remaster" it so you can't find anyone to play with. They won't be satisfied until their entire fan base quits playing because we can't find anyone after the 1st year of the game, that is since DS2 and on. Their war on twinks has killed the franchise in favor of the shitty players who complain about the game being "too hard". It's supposed to be fucking hard. That said I have killed several players who were over 100 over 200 even over 300 levels higher than me just like I have been beaten by players lower level than me and I've killed hackers with inf HP. I know I seem to be ranting now but even to this day, if From Software just did a little update to DS1, DS2, and/or DS3 to allow players to invade or see signs of all other players, even just players that are higher or lower level, then those games would blow up again. There would be people everywhere coming back to play again. Signs everywhere we could all be jolly cooperating in all games and easily find others to make matches. I feel like I am the only person who has thought on this and TBH it's very disappointing to see the whole franchise slowly wither away, much like the in game story the embers are running out and soon there won't be any. My hope is that with enough awareness maybe we can rekindle the fires. Thanks for your time.

The point of "Let players explore the world" is what I'm most looking forward to in this game. I love Bloodborne and Dark Souls a lot, but so often I felt compelled to use a guide to navigate the world instead of explore on my own terms because of how punishing it could be to miss important items and quests, or because the campfires/lamps were too spread out and I didn't want to risk losing all of my progress. That has always been my biggest complaint of this franchise- that the fantastic level design and lack of a map seemed to encourage the player to explore on their own terms, yet the mechanics of quests and checkpoints often discouraged that kind of exploration. You might say "git gud" to that, but that's part of the problem, the high difficulty curve makes it hard for the player in the beginning to be able to play the game unassisted, and once you have used a guide, you no longer have access to the wonder of unassisted exploration and discovery. I feel like that in particular hurt Bloodborne, as unassisted exploration was needed to truly scare the player, to make them dread turning every corner in fear of the horrors they might encounter, and learn how to overcome that fear by studying the environment and enemies like a Hunter would.

This is no doubt inspired heavily by the Tenchu series. None of those games except Z had any of that stuff either. They were awesome nonetheless

Miyazaki has earned the right to make whatever game he wants. Literally, and I do mean *literally* , if he wanted to kick me in the balls, I'd let him... Just once. Every game he's made, has become so precious to me. They've given me sooooo many hours of pure joy, I feel like I owe him something beyond the price tag.

So basically if dark souls and the new spiderman had a baby in an open world upgrade progression system with gadget arm things and possible skins that could act ass suits

I trust Miyazaki in making a great game, including a new refreshing IP. Demon/dark souls and bloodborne are my favorite games of all times. There was no real precedent for these types of games beforehand. What I truly love most about these/his games, are that they draw me in like no other games have. You don’t want to put them down, look forward to playing them & have extremely rewarding mechanics. Death is an opportunity to learn. There is great satisfaction that comes by overcoming such depth & difficulty.

The revive mechanic reminds me of the Fake Death pill from Snake Eater, to remain in the theme of stealth.

Man, i'd like to play as a chick honestly. Maybe they'll make a female protagonist as well and add armor skins which you can collect as a loot or through pvp points. Ps: Man, no multiplayer huh. Oh well still gonna buy it. Pvp would be nice once you've done with the story though.

finally, a fixed protagonist! I actually don't like having character customization, well, aside from outfits.

I just personally find the medieval setting better. Also, the lack of customization kind of kills it for me. And to make matters worse, while the combat adds a lot of mechanics, it might be rather busy and not very streamlined. And then if there isn't multiplayer... I just don't think this will be a masterpiece in the way Dark Souls is. Dark Souls 1 always!

Seems like tons of folks are name dropping tenchu and onimusha to describe this game. Tenchu was metal gear with ninjas and onimusha was old school resident evil with ninjas. This is souls with ninjas. It's a little different but you watched him open that big door.
